SACRAMENTO, California-October 28, 2016 – The Kids Can Food Drive started on October 7 and school collections will continue until November 11. There are many big companies like Stanton Optical supporting the event and this year’s goal is to raise 345 thousand pounds of food for the hungry.
Stanton Optical is dedicated to helping the community. They assist people with their eye health needs by providing eye exams and eyewear products at affordable prices. Stanton Optical is also expanding their community outreach by actively sponsoring the Kids Can Food Drive.
For those who are not familiar with this event, the KCRA 3 Kids Can Food Drive is a community involvement event supported by the Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services (SFBFS). It is dedicated to helping feed hungry families within the community. This charitable initiative has been around for more than 20 years. More than 300 schools from 14 counties participate and compete against each other to see who can raise the most food for the hungry.
Stanton Optical is also helping promote the event by participating in the kickoff and putting sponsorship in their store to get people to talk about it and bring more awareness. “It’s great coming here and seeing all the food that everyone’s donating… It’s a new experience for me, for sure.” said Ian Walker, Field Executive of Stanton Optical in Sacramento, when asked about the event.
The event is coming to its end on November 11 and hopefully many others (individuals and companies) will be able to support this great cause and help to surpass the goal.
Since it’s inception in 2006, Stanton Optical has become a national leader in the eye health industry by developing an accessible alternative to over-priced eye care services. To circumvent costly markups traditionally associated with national brick-and-mortar stores, Stanton Optical works directly with designer eyewear manufacturers and equips a majority of its stores with optical labs that produce quality prescription eyeglasses in a matter of hours. That’s why many Stanton Optical retail stores feature over 3,000 discounted designer frames for men, women and children, popular brands of contact lenses like Acuvue, Air Optix, BioSoft, PureVision, SofLens and Proclear, and same-day services.
